The Guy Who Gets the Nerds Together
The Nerdy Tourney is the kind of thing I would love to be invited to: a bunch of people who care way too much about paddles, getting together to play and have fun.
The invitation is an aspiration, not an invitation received. This page is not a tournament entry or an offer. Not an official BNB mascot or endorsement.

The Real-World Résumé
Founder of Bread & Butter. Participant accounts from the 2026 Nerdy Tourney describe Doug and his family helping bring the gathering together, including a dunk tank.
Pros MY TAKE
-
Brings the nerds together.
The conversations are part of what I love about pickleball. I like that he helps turn that online world into an actual get-together.
-
Makes room for ridiculous.
There is a tournament. There is also a dunk tank. That is a pretty good sign this is not just another brand presentation.
-
Gets in on the joke.
The 2026 recap says Doug got in the tank, too. I like a host who is willing to join the bit.
Cons & Caveats CONTEXT MATTERS
An ambitious goal for a man sitting above a tank of water.
Enjoying the people and the event does not decide whether a paddle is right for someone. The guide still does that work separately.
Dunk Doug · optional silent toy
OPTIONAL SIDE QUEST
Dunk Doug
A fictional Skilltree dunk-tank scene inspired by the Nerdy Tourney. The ball hits the target, never Doug. Five playful outcomes; no score or real-world prize.
Nothing plays until you choose. This toy is silent.

Hybrid and Elongated • Reviewed October 21, 2026
Two shapes. One useful decision: a compact setup, or more reach and handle?
The Hybrid’s lower swing weight favors quicker handling, while its higher twist weight offers more resistance to twisting on off-center hits. The Elongated adds reach and handle length, with a higher swing weight. No active Skilltree discount is promised.
Creative analogies, not measured specifications.

Code activation is not verified. Current US direct-order returns: 30 days from delivery under the official policy, customer-paid return shipping, original shipping nonrefundable, exclusions apply. Preserve the factory grip if return eligibility matters.
UPA-A exact models matched. Hybrid’s exact USA Pickleball registry match remains unverified in this review despite BNB’s approval claim; Elongated matched the official indexed list. Recheck your event’s governing rules.
Loco 2 Hybrid

Compact shape. Room to react.

Less windup. More next ball.
Compact, decisive action. A playful priority-move analogy, not a measured speed claim.

Change the look. Keep your nerve.
Adaptable, expressive, unmistakably herself. An all-court metaphor, not a promise that one paddle does everything.

What the differences mean
Loco 2 Elongated

A little more reach. A different tradeoff.

Find your distance. Pick your moment.
Genesect brings the ranged counterpart to Scizor’s close-up style. Same Bug/Steel pairing, different approach. The cannon is a story cue for reach, not a claim that the Elongated hits harder.

Calm is a competitive advantage.
Measured presence and an intentional longer-shape choice. Not a claim of automatic control.

Independent samples, not guaranteed tolerances. Small spin and speed differences do not establish a meaningful winner.

Matt discloses affiliate links. Kew discloses separate paid prototype work; the supplied-paddle production tests were unpaid with no brand editorial input. Both Loco 2 shapes use Space Dust Grit and carry JohnKew’s Tier 1 (provisional) spin-durability rating. Methods and samples differ; do not average them.
