The CMD is my personal main; Shift and Mach 2 Forza 16 mm remain featured for their distinct roles. October 12 MM14 checkout figures are historical evidence. CMD HYB 16 mm

The CMD does not have elite firepower. For most players, I think that is a good thing.

Messy hair. Remarkable instincts.
The Shift feels like its predecessor to me, with CMD being the next evolution of the feel I like.

Ball feel, setup, and power tradeoffs
The CMD is my main. The ball feel is what pulls me back: on a paddle with T1 grit, it is unmatched in my experience. Spin is elite, soft shots come easily, and I can still find plenty of power when I take a full swing.
The hybrid shape puts the sweet spot higher than I usually expect, closer to the elongated feel I like and where players often make contact. The low stock weight also leaves plenty of room to make it mine.
My weight setup
I like 3 g Slyce sliders at 3 and 9, plus about two inches of half-gram tape on the bottom cheeks. For me, that takes a good sweet spot into an elite one: plenty of stability, while remaining maneuverable enough for fast hands.
The tradeoff: controlled power, not maximum firepower.
To me, it is about as powerful as a highly controllable paddle can be: easy in the soft game, with power available when I take a full swing. If maximum pop is the entire mission, that is the tradeoff.
