Paddles Were Just the Beginning.
A paddle guide and a game prototype seem like a strange combo. Add a clothing concept, and now you’re asking… what is this place trying to be? This is what happens when “one quick idea” is left unsupervised.

Skilltree’s mission puts it simply: let’s make being a nerd genuinely cool. Find something you enjoy, get curious, and follow the questions. Before long, you find your people. The ones that hear, “This might be a little nerdy…” and pull up a chair. That’s the connection we are trying to build.
First, Find Your Paddle
A good guide begins with the choice in front of you. What would you like to improve? Which trade-off matters most? What information would make the choice easier?
Skilltree’s public buying guides provide a place for those questions. The site’s published approach distinguishes Mitchell’s personal takes from manufacturer specifications and outside testing, and it acknowledges affiliate relationships. “I played with it” and “the manufacturer says so” are different kinds of evidence. You shouldn’t have to guess which one you’re reading.
If you came for a paddle recommendation, you should be able to find it without completing a lore quiz first. But if you enjoy the rabbit hole… well, you’ve come to the right place.

Professor Mitchell doesn’t fall down rabbit holes. He commits.
The Specs Can Have a Personality
A gear comparison can be useful and enjoyable at the same time. A game-like way to explore an idea might make you want to keep going; a fandom reference can make a trade-off easier to remember. The facts still need to do the work. Those playful touches don’t establish measured performance.

Take the quick answer or follow the rabbit hole. You shouldn’t need to love spreadsheets to find a paddle, and loving spreadsheets shouldn’t disqualify you from having fun.
Cool Site. Who’s Coming Back?
Community is something we want to build. People need a reason to join. They need ways to contribute and something to care about between visits.

We want Skilltree to become a place where people can find useful gear, swap ideas, and have fun together. We’re still building toward that. First, we need to create things worth coming back for.
What Exists Today
You can explore the gear guides and peek at the merch concepts today. The clothes aren’t ready to order (YET), and the games and community ideas are still works in progress. Any future feature has to earn its place by being useful. Mentioning it here doesn’t mean it’s available, and it doesn’t put a launch date on the calendar. In other words, these are not features we’re promising you tomorrow.
Different Branches, One Tree
Each branch should be worth exploring on its own. A guide should help you choose, a design should be interesting to look at, and a future game should be fun to play.
Find something useful. Follow something interesting. See where the next branch leads. We’ll be clear about what’s ready and what’s still an idea. Explore at your own level of nerd.
